Scholarship Opportunity: The "Great Things Happening in Texas Public Schools" Scholarship is for graduating seniors from a Friends Network District who can use their voice and visual media (i.e. video) to share how their public school education has/will impact their future. The goal of this Scholarship is to highlight the "Great Things Happening in Texas Public Schools" from the student's perspective.

This year, Friends will award two graduates $2,500 each with its inaugural scholarship/award. One for a student joining the workforce, continuing education through trade schools or other forms of post-secondary training and one for a college bound graduate.

Steps to Apply:
1. Create a short video/multimedia file sharing your perspective about the Great Things Happening in Texas Public Schools.
2. Complete the short application form here including a link to your file.

Deadline: November 16th
About Friends: We are a bit of a different type of organization....one that does not invest energy in education reform but rather in celebrating what is right with our schools.

Friends Mission: By educating Texans about Texas Public Schools and their many strengths and achievements, we aim to underscore the significance of them, unite Texans around them, restore pride in them, strengthen confidence in them, lift spirits among them, and inject resources into them....all of which will lead to even greater performances.
If you are not currently a Friends Network member, join here by November 16 to allow your students to apply for this scholarship.
